Slowly recovering from AU's Jekyll-and-Hyde performance at WVU. All 3 phases (offense, defense, and special teams) have been inconsistent for the Tigers this year. Thus, losses have become plentiful. Not only is my team performing poorly, my picks have become abysmal. Last week I continued the trend to go 4-3 bringing my total record for the year heading into November down to 41-19 (68%). I'm hoping both my picks and AU get things going this week.
Florida 35 (-6) Georgia 24
The 'Dogs looked strong last week. But, they'll have all they can handle with the Gators. UF lost last year when Richt had his team dance YMCA in the endzone. Urban usually has his team ready for the big game. Wouldn't doubt if the Gators came out to a quick start.
Ole Miss 27 (-6) Auburn 17
Not much confidence in the defense at this point. And I'm afraid both the Rebels and their fans will be ready when the Tigers come to town. I don't look for AU to get things on track this week.
Alabama 40 (-23) Arkansas St. 10
I don't look for the Red Wolves to provide much opposition for the Tide. Bama will have it in cruise control headed into the showdown in Baton Rouge next week.
Tulsa 34 (-7) at Arkansas 30
Should be a good game in Fayetteville. The undefeated Hurricanes should be up to the task knowing the pollsters will be watching.
S. Carolina 24 (-6) Tennessee 13
Fulmer's farewell tour continues in Columbia. UT has consistently out-recruited Carolina over the years. And despite this, the 'Cocks win with relative ease. Superior coaching is the difference.
LSU 33 (-26) Tulane 9
Bad timing for the Green Wave. Not that good timing would help much. But, these will be an angry bunch of kitties after getting throttled at home last week. Once the game is in hand, expect LSU to let off the gas with the Turds coming to town next week.
***UPSET SPECIAL***
Kentucky 13 (+3) at Miss. St. 10
Both teams have been stuck in a rut lately. Even though they're playing at home, there's not much fight left in these 'Dogs. If UK scores 1st, MSU will need some breaks. A win all but sows up a bowl berth for the 'Cats. Good coaching usually gets it done. Hence, the edge to UK.

SEC Week 9 Predictions
Well, I decided to take last week off. Got a little burned out, kinda like the AU offense. Here's hoping they bring something to the table this week. Week 7 I went 2-3 bringing my overall record to 37-16 (70%). Not a good week to say the least. Hopefully, I can redeem myself this week...
Bama 27 (-6) at Tennessee 10
I would anticipate Bama to get off to a quick start, as usual. Then in the 2nd half, UT will be playing to make it respectable, as usual. This should fire up Phil's moving vans. He'll remain HC through the remainder of the season out of just sheer courtesy.
LSU 24 (-2) Georgia 16
Lots of off-the-field issues for Georgia again this week. From arrests to injuries, you name it, UGA has seen it all. A season that once looked very promising is starting to implode. Don't be surprised if LSU plays like gang-busters and does a number on the reeling 'Dogs.
Ole Miss 23 (-5) at Arkansas 21
Would not be surprised to see the 'Backs pull this 1 out. I just think the Rebels are the better team right now.
Vandy 27 (-10) Duke 17
I was very close to picking the Devils in this 1. Vandy is at the 5-win mark and have somehow managed to collapse every year when they're trying to become bowl-eligible. A loss by the 'Dores and it could seriously have a snowball effect for the remainder of their season.
Florida 38 (-24) Kentucky 13
I heard the other day on the radio that UK is like 0-12 in their last 12 trips to Gainseville. No reason to see that change this weekend.
Miss. St. 20 (-11) MTSU 9
The Blue Raiders could keep things interesting for at least 3 quarters in Starkville. I just believe the defense will be the difference, on both sides. MTSU will have problems putting it in the endzone and even stopping MSU's anemic offense.
***UPSET SPECIAL***
Auburn 21 (+3) at W. Virginia 19
I've seen AU face more adverse conditions than this 1, namely '02 Bama. So, I shouldn't be surprised to see a more confident team this Thursday night. Fortunately, the Tigers have had some extra time to prepare to recover from some key injuries and install a more assertive offense. The key once again for Auburn will be playing disciplined on both sides of the ball. The defense will have plenty to handle trying to stop the WVU offense. But as long as they don't give up the big play, I expect it to get difficult for the Mountaineers to score in the redzone. Also, this defense has something to prove after their lackluster performance against Arkansas. And if AU were to lose, it would be the 1st time since 2001 they've lost 3 games in a row under Tuberville.
Bama 27 (-6) at Tennessee 10

SEC Week 7 Predictions
Man have things changed in a week. In 1 week, we lose to Vandy and fire our OC. Auburn was 104th in the nation in total offense. Pathetic. Don't think it could get any worse. Anyway, I was 4-1 last week bringing my total to 35-13 (73%). I did get my 1st upset special right though.
Auburn 17 (-18) Arkansas 13
These 2 teams are in the lower half of the SEC right now. I do believe AU has the talent to be much better. And, Arkansas has the advantage in coaching. It'll be very interesting to see what offense AU runs without Franklin.
Georgia 23 (-13) Tennessee 16
I think this game will be much closer than most people think. This is a classic Fulmer-saving job. And UGA has to get their groove back since getting embarrassed by Bama.
Florida 27 (-5) LSU 20
Hard to bet against Les "the hat" Miles in big games. But, I doubt UF will lose 2 home games in the same year. I expect Meyer to come out guns firing in this one.
Vandy 14 (-2) at Miss. St. 10
The 'Dores don't matchup well against MSU. This could be a big win for the Dogs. I keep waiting for Vandy to start their annual downward spiral. This would certainly get it going. Right now though, I'm going with the better team, that is if Vandy plays their backup QB again.
***UPSET SPECIAL***
Kentucky 17 (+2) S. Carolina 14
UK's coming off a strong showing against the Tide last week. They know this is a game they need to keep their bowl hopes alive. Playing at home, I think the their defense will keep it close enough to pull it out.

SEC Week 6 Predictions
Been a busy week. Got to make these quick. Had a rough week with my picks last week (4-3). My total now is 31-12 (72%).
Auburn 20 (-4) at Vanderbilt 10
AU's looking at adding more I-formation to the spread this week. Good to see the coaches trying to adapt to the personnel we've got. It's a big week for the 'Dores. They should keep things very interesting. Unless Auburn gives up some turnovers, they should win the ballgame.
Alabama 27 (-16) Kentucky 9
Don't expect a letdown from Bama this week after the huge upset in Athens.
Tennessee 21 (-16) N. Illinois 13
UT's struggles continue this weekend at home.
Florida 37 (-24) at Arkansas 14
UF will be out for blood after dropping their game at home to Ole Miss last Sat.
***UPSET SPECIAL***
S. Carolina 24 (+2) at Ole Miss 23
This should be a very good game. Not going to be on TV. We're missing out on some very good Ole Miss games this year. First Vandy, now this. The Rebels are fresh off a big win at Florida and are ripe for the upset. Spurrier is not scared of anyone and will have his team prepared to win.
